Company Overview

Haptica Inc., which presents itself at industry events as Haptica Robotics, is an early-stage San Francisco company developing tactile sensing for robots. Its website describes the business as "the touch infrastructure for robotics" and says the team is "finally bringing tactile data to robot learning in the real world". The company has not yet published a named product, datasheet or price; as of October 2026 it states that it is running pilots with select partners and invites robot developers to request a demo, a pilot or a partnership through its contact page.

The company has two co-founders. Dr. Cosima du Pasquier lists a background at Stanford, ETH Zurich, Apple and BMW, and Paola Peraza Calderon lists Stanford, the data-orchestration company Astronomer and Georgetown University. Its advisory board combines haptics research and robotics industry experience: Prof. Allison M. Okamura of Stanford, who leads the CHARM Lab working on haptics and medical robotics; Prof. Rodney Brooks, co-founder of iRobot and Robust.AI and former director of MIT CSAIL; Cynthia Yeung, who has worked at Agility Robotics, Google X and SoftBank Robotics; Jennifer Gill Roberts, managing partner of Grit Ventures; and Brady Forrest, founder of Ignite Talks.

Published hiring plans give a picture of the technical direction. Haptica is recruiting a robot learning engineer to own its learning stack and "establish the role of tactile in robotics", and a mechanical engineer to take its hardware to small-batch manufacturing, both on site in San Francisco. Together these indicate a combined offer of touch-sensing hardware and the data and learning tools that let robot policies use tactile signals, aimed at teams training manipulation skills for humanoids and other robots with hands or grippers.

Haptica has been visible mainly on the humanoid conference circuit. At Humanoids Summit Tokyo, in the startup presentation block on 28 May 2026, co-founder Paola Peraza Calderon gave a startup presentation titled "Haptica Robotics: Giving Robots a Sense of Touch". No funding round, investor list, customer name or headcount has been disclosed publicly, so the company's size and backing remain unverified.
