GP Graders is an Australian manufacturer of fresh produce grading and sorting machinery, founded in 1963 by Geoff Payne in Victoria and headquartered in Mount Waverley. The company began by redesigning belt and roller sizers for gentler handling of apples and stone fruit and has remained Australian-owned for more than 60 years.
Its current product range centers on the gpVision platform, launched in 2020, which combines multiple cameras including MultiView imaging with machine-learning software to sort produce by weight, size, color, shape, and external and internal defects. The AirJet Grader applies this vision system to cherries, blueberries and stone fruit, while the GP601 platform handles weight-based grading of stone fruit; earlier milestones included computerized weight sizers in 1983 and color-sorting machinery in 1998. The company also builds sanitary-design machines for food-safety-sensitive packing lines and supplies shellfish grading equipment.
GP Graders operates three regional headquarters: its global base in Mount Waverley, Victoria; a South American headquarters in Curico, Chile, active since 2001; and a North American headquarters in Yakima, Washington. Distribution in Europe runs through the Poland-based partner Milbor PMC, and customers include Wandin Valley Farms, Rivermaid Trading and Valley Fresh Cherries.
