GenRobotics (Genrobotic Innovations Private Limited) is an Indian deep-tech robotics company founded in 2017 by Vimal Govind MK, Arun George, Nikhil NP, and Rashid K, and incubated by the Kerala State Startup Mission. Headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, the company developed Bandicoot, recognized as the world's first robotic manhole cleaning system. Bandicoot uses a spider-like body with deployable legs for stability inside manholes, integrated HD cameras, hazardous gas sensors, and a sludge extraction arm, enabling fully remote operation with zero human entry.
The robot has been deployed across 19 Indian states and 3 Union Territories, cleaning over 6,000 manholes across 37 sites with more than 300 active units. GenRobotics has trained over 3,000 sanitation workers to operate the robots, transforming former manual scavengers into skilled robot operators. The company also develops solutions for oil and gas and medical robotics verticals.
