Company Overview

frog is a global creative and design consultancy founded in 1969 by industrial designer Hartmut Esslinger in Mutlangen, Germany, originally as esslinger design. The firm was renamed frog design in 1982 — the name is an acronym for Federal Republic of Germany — and later stylized as frog in 2011. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, frog is best known for designing Apple's Snow White design language (1984-1990), the Apple IIc case, and multiple Macintosh models, as well as Sony Trinitron and Walkman editions.

The firm expanded its services to include strategy, innovation, and organizational transformation. frog was acquired by engineering firm Aricent, which was then acquired by Altran, and subsequently by Capgemini in 2019. Today frog operates under the Capgemini Invent umbrella and has integrated Fahrenheit 212, Idean, and June21 into its brand. The firm serves clients across industrial design, UX, digital transformation, and product strategy.
