FarmDroid ApS is a Danish agricultural robotics company founded in 2018 by brothers Jens Warming and Kristian Warming, based in Vejen, Denmark. The company develops the FarmDroid FD20, an autonomous solar-powered field robot that performs precision seeding and mechanical weed control without pesticides. Powered by four solar panels and an onboard battery system, the FD20 operates up to 24 hours daily on CO2-neutral energy.
It uses high-precision RTK GPS with 8 mm accuracy to record each seed's position and later perform both inter-row and intra-row mechanical weeding. The robot covers up to 6 hectares per day and eliminates certain pesticide use by up to 100 percent. FarmDroid has sold over 500 units across more than 20 countries and raised €10.5 million in 2024 to accelerate global expansion.
