EyePick is a French industrial AI company founded in 2019 by Mehdi Adjaoue and Andrey Besedin, who met through the Entrepreneur First programme. The company presents EyePick as a single industrial controller that connects robots, cameras and machines, runs vision and decision AI, and orchestrates operations for variable, real-world tasks. Earlier versions of the system combined 3D cameras with machine learning to recognise many different products, packaged or loose, sort them by destination and detect damaged or defective items. Use cases cited include handling several SKUs with one gripper at high speed, picking items from a jumbled bin, and placing items according to orientation or weight limits. The system works with roller and belt conveyors and mobile robots and provides real-time performance indicators. EyePick does not build robots itself; it partners with robot vendors to deliver complete systems. Reported applications include variable product inspection, subjective defect inspection, weight optimisation and machine orchestration in agri-food, logistics and manufacturing, with early customers mainly in French fruit-and-vegetable handling and industrial kitchens.
EyePick was selected for the Future 40 list at Station F in 2020 and won the Rungis & Co jury prize in 2022. Investors include Entrepreneur First, Elaia Partners and Plug and Play (Basel and Milan).
