Swedish mining and infrastructure equipment maker (STO: EPI A) whose Boomer tunneling rigs and LinkOA platform automate drilling and haulage.
Epiroc AB is a Swedish manufacturer of equipment, tools and services for mining, infrastructure and civil engineering, headquartered in Nacka near Stockholm. The company originates from the Mining and Rock Excavation Technique business area and the Hydraulic Attachment Tools division of Atlas Copco, from which it was separated and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm (share classes EPI A and EPI B) in 2018. In 2025 Epiroc reported revenues of MSEK 61,998 (about SEK 62 billion) with around 19,000 employees, serving customers in about 150 countries through two segments, Equipment & Service and Tools & Attachments.
For construction, Epiroc supplies equipment for tunneling and underground infrastructure, quarrying and surface construction, pipeline trenching, and demolition and recycling. Its Boomer face drilling rigs, including the Boomer E3, S2, T1, M20, S10, E10 and E20 models, drill blast holes in tunnels and drifts with up to four booms covering cross-sections from 6 to 206 square metres, and several models are available with a battery-electric driveline. Automation on the Boomer range includes the Rig Control System (RCS) with teleremote operation, the Dynamic Tunneling package that generates drill plans at the face from a tunnel contour and drill rule file, automated rod and bit changing, automatic leveling and drill stop protection. Surface drilling is covered by the SmartROC range, and the attachment range includes hydraulic breakers, concrete cutters and busters, pulverizers, compactors, grapples and bucket crushers for excavators.
Epiroc's automation and information-management portfolio spans underground and surface operations. Its AUTOMATE offering covers line-of-sight remote control, teleremote operation, multi-machine automation and fleet automation, and its Link Open Autonomy (LinkOA) platform provides open autonomy for drills, blasting, haulage and staffed vehicles. In October 2025 Epiroc and US aggregates producer Luck Stone deployed a fully autonomous SmartROC D65 MKII surface drill rig, which Epiroc describes as the first fully autonomous surface drill delivered to the quarry market worldwide; it executes complete drill patterns without an operator in the cab, meets the Global Mining Guidelines Group Level 4 full-autonomy definition and runs under remote supervision via the Common Automation Panel and LinkOA. In 2026 Epiroc announced that it is extending autonomous truck automation to surface operations, using 3D LiDAR for localization, mapping and obstacle detection.
Epiroc also provides parts, service and digital solutions, and operates dedicated media channels for underground mining and tunneling and for demolition and recycling. Its stated strategy emphasizes automation, digitalization and electrification across the product range.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
