EdenCore Technologies PC
"Smarter crop protection starts here."
Athens agtech spin-off of the Agricultural University of Athens whose Viewer camera unit maps orchard trees and drives variable-rate sprayers.
EdenCore Technologies PC is a Greek agricultural technology company based in Athens that applies computer vision and AI to specialty crops. It is described as one of the first spin-off companies of the Agricultural University of Athens and was incubated in the university's Laboratory of Agricultural Engineering, whose work covers precision agriculture, robotics and computer vision. EdenCore also started Eden Library, an open digital resource of agri-food image data and AI algorithms. Nikos Mylonas is CEO and co-founder.
The company's product is Viewer, a modular sensing unit that mounts on a tractor front hitch, engine hood, implement or quad bike and adapts to different crop heights and training systems. Viewer scans trees as the vehicle drives, GPS-tags the data and uploads it to a web dashboard, and it communicates with the sprayer to modulate application rate in real time according to the canopy. It supports three services: Precision Spray (real-time variable-rate spraying), Yield Monitoring (season-long scouting from flowering to harvest) and Vigor and Disease Mapping (tree-level vigor analysis and symptom recognition). Supported crops include apple, grapes, nectarine, peach, citrus, cherry, almond and blueberries. The company states that growers can save up to 40% on pesticides and fertilizers when Viewer is linked to their sprayers.
EdenCore raised a EUR 900,000 seed round led by Uni.Fund VC, later extended by EUR 300,000 from Investing For Purpose for a total of EUR 1.2 million; other backers include Loggerhead Ventures, the sprayer manufacturer AGROMA and private investors from Theti Club. The company exhibited at Fruit Attraction in Madrid in 2025.
