Eckelmann AG is a Wiesbaden-based, second-generation family business founded in 1977 by Dr. Gerd Eckelmann, now led by CEO Philipp Eckelmann alongside board members Volker Kugel and Dr. Marco Münchhof. With more than 500 employees across the corporate group, Eckelmann positions itself as a full-service provider of industrial automation and digitalization solutions, covering the full spectrum from field-level hardware to supervisory control systems. The company develops its own hardware and software and operates a modern electronics production facility in Wiesbaden.
Subsidiaries are located in Erfurt, Herford, Wilhelmshaven, Beijing, Shanghai, and Tvrdonice (Czech Republic), enabling turnkey automation delivery worldwide. Key product lines include Eckelmann FactoryWare software for manufacturing execution and vision inspection, machine automation hardware (control systems, safe control technology, drive controllers, image processing, Panels and IPCs, motors), and a comprehensive Refrigeration and Building Management Systems portfolio (including the Virtus Caelum Cloud platform, LDSWin, and Virtus Tectum Grid). Application software includes E°CUT and E°MILL HMI/PLC for CNC machining.
Industries served include mechanical and special-purpose machine construction, steelworks, commercial refrigeration, food and beverage, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, medical technology, biotechnology, semiconductors/SMT, intralogistics, and 3D printing. Eckelmann holds DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and EN ISO 13485:2016 certifications and is a UL-listed switchgear cabinet manufacturer.
