The company supplies the German Bundeswehr and international armed forces with air-defense systems, guided missiles, ammunition, and training and protection equipment.
Its best-known product line is the IRIS-T family of guided missiles, spanning the short-range IRIS-T air-to-air missile and the surface-launched IRIS-T SL variant used in the IRIS-T SLM and SLS ground-based air-defense systems for air defense and counter-UAS missions. The broader portfolio includes man-portable and vehicle-mounted effectors, smart and conventional ammunition, fuzes, and protection and training equipment for military personnel.
Diehl Defence reported 2025 sales of about 2,331 million euros and employed roughly 5,406 people across 18 locations worldwide. The company has announced capacity expansion at its Lake Constance sites to increase production of guided-missile and air-defense systems.
