DeepOcean has expanded through a series of acquisitions: Searov in 2017, Delta Subsea in 2018, a majority stake in seabed-minerals company Adepth Minerals in 2021, Norwegian engineering firm Installit AS in April 2022, and Shelf Subsea in May 2025, the last of which extended DeepOcean's operations into the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions. DeepOcean positions itself around sustainability and the energy transition, citing its integrated health-safety-environment-quality (HSEQ) approach, proven subsea track record, and technology-driven remote operations as differentiators versus traditional ship-and-crew-heavy subsea contractors.
