Company Overview

CynLr, short for Cybernetics Laboratory for Robotics, is a deep-tech robotics company founded in 2019 and headquartered in Bengaluru, India. The company was co-founded by Gokul N A and Nikhil Ramaswamy. CynLr operates a 13,000-square-foot robotics lab in Bengaluru that hosts its testing infrastructure, referred to internally as the Cybernetics H.I.V.E.

CynLr's core technology is a visual object intelligence platform that enables industrial robotic arms to see, understand, and manipulate arbitrary objects in unstructured, real-world environments without any pre-programming or object-specific training. The proprietary vision stack, CLX-01, is inspired by the human eye's convergence and dynamic depth perception mechanisms, using dual lenses with real-time motion and convergence to estimate depth of previously unseen objects.

The company's primary commercial product is CyRo, a dual-arm vision-guided robotic system designed for bin picking and unstructured object manipulation tasks. CyRo combines the CLX-01 vision stack with force-aware manipulation and real-time perception to handle unknown objects with human-like dexterity. The company has also developed CyNoid, a mobile robotic system with three 7-degree-of-freedom arms for complex tasks in constrained spaces, and Mantroid, a three-wheeled platform offering high payload capacity and height adjustability for complex assembly tasks.

CynLr's initial commercial clients include Denso and General Motors, validating its technology in industrial manufacturing and automotive assembly contexts. The company's platform targets the universal factory concept, where a single robot installation can handle arbitrary product variants without reprogramming.

As of November 2024, CynLr has raised a total of approximately $15.2 million across two main funding rounds. Its Series A round, led by Pavestone, Grow X Ventures, and Athera Ventures (formerly Inventus India), raised $10 million. CynLr has collaborated with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) on research into primate vision-inspired robotics control.
