"Une seule IA pour tous vos robots"
Conscience Robotics, founded in 2017 in Normandy, builds Bering line-marking rovers, Ubik inspection robots and the Conscience OS robot operating system.
Conscience Robotics SAS is a French artificial intelligence and robotics company founded in 2017 and based in Herouville-Saint-Clair near Caen, Normandy. It is led by founder and CEO Ilies Zaoui and builds all of its robots in its own workshops in Normandy. The company started with AI specific to robotics and went on to develop Conscience OS, which it presents as a universal operating system for robots.
Conscience OS runs on an onboard unit measuring 8.5 x 11.2 x 2.8 cm and supports rovers, drones and bipedal robots, allowing robots of different types to work together on one task. It is complemented by Conscience Connect, a human-machine control interface compatible with virtual reality, and Conscience Studio, a tool for designing, simulating and deploying robot skills and missions. The company also offers Conscience Agent, an AI assistant for business tasks such as email, invoicing, quotes and scheduling, and custom robotisation projects.
The robot catalogue, available for purchase or rental, includes Bering, an autonomous ground-marking robot, and Bering TT, an all-terrain version, used for sports fields, construction sites and advertising markings; Ubik, an autonomous inspection robot, and Ubik Max for heavier payloads; Care, a robot for round-the-clock patient monitoring; Median, a teleconsultation robot; and Enki, a bipedal robot at R&D stage. Listed applications cover surveying and mapping, indoor mapping, ground marking, follow-me, indoor and outdoor equipment transport, and inspection with alerts.
Conscience Robotics won first prize in the CoHoMa III 2025 challenge run by the French Army's Battle Lab Terre and an innovation prize at the Trophees de l'economie normande in 2019. It is a member of NAE Normandie (aerospace, defence and security) and takes part in research projects including DRINEA (2024-2027), FUSION and REISAR, a France 2030 project on robotic inspection of water networks. Funders include Bpifrance, France 2030, Region Normandie and the European Union. Partners and clients include Colas, Groupe ADP, Ramsay Sante, Geneve Aeroport, Signify, Inria and Universite de Caen Normandie.
