Chengdu Aerospace Kate Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd., known as Kate, is based in Qingrong Town, Pidu District, Chengdu, Sichuan, China. Founded in 2017 by Jiang Liping, the company grew from a small office into a facility exceeding 8,000 square meters within seven years and holds a national high-tech enterprise designation and a "little giant" specialized-enterprise designation.
Kate's original business is FOD edge-light detectors, optical components, servo drivers, servo motors, turntables, and electro-optical detection systems for aviation, aerospace, and maritime customers. Building on that servo-drive base, the company now also builds a modular robot-joint unit combining a motor, reducer, encoder, and drive controller in one housing across nearly 30 variants; the design targets weight cuts of up to 22 percent and is meant to cover roughly 80 percent of a humanoid robot's joint types, including hip, shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints. Kate supplies these modules to more than ten humanoid-robot makers and partners with Sichuan Embodied Humanoid Robot Technology on joint development; regional media project over 80 million yuan in 2026 revenue from this line as new lines raise capacity toward 150,000 units a year.
As of late 2023 the company had more than 70 employees, a figure regional media report has since roughly doubled; Kate holds over 100 patents.
