Israeli agtech firm (founded 2019 as Bumblebee AI) making electrostatic and vibration pollination machines for avocado and blueberry growers.
BloomX is an agricultural technology company headquartered in Rishpon, Israel, that develops machines and software for controlled, biomimicry-based pollination of fruit crops. The company was founded in 2019 under the name Bumblebee AI by Thai Sade (Founder and CEO), Avi Keren (Co-founder and CTO) and Ido Senesh (Co-founder and VP Software Engineering). The venture took shape in the Zell Entrepreneurship Program at Reichman University.
The company's current product line has three parts. YAHAV 2400 is an electrostatic pollination platform designed for avocado orchards. It uses a high-voltage electrostatic field to collect pollen without touching the flowers during peak male flowering, holds the pollen overnight on a bio-mimicking fabric, and releases it onto female flowers through gentle friction during the female bloom. Published specifications include 2000 W power, multi-constellation GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS), 4G LTE connectivity, a tablet plus physical control panel, a 5 m telescopic pole with adjustable electrode span, tilt compensation for slopes, working dimensions of 525 cm length, 220-650 cm width and 560 cm height, and a weight of 2400 kg. BloomX pre-launched the YAHAV 2400 in 2025. A lighter handheld version, YAHAV 1400, uses the same electrostatic method for small-scale projects.
Robee is a vibration pollination machine for blueberries, modelled on the buzz pollination performed by bumblebees. It applies calibrated vibration across the canopy, records coverage with integrated GPS, and can be configured for row spacing and pruning style. It is rated at 1000 W and weighs 245 kg. The company's software predicts the best pollination timing from bloom observations and weather data and maps completed pollination work across the farm.
BloomX recorded its first field deployment of a prototype in 2020 and its first commercial customer in 2021. It raised a USD 7 million seed round in 2022 and a USD 5.2 million Pre-A round in 2024, with support from the Israel Innovation Authority in both cases. In 2023 it joined the Ray of Hope Prize cohort of the US Biomimicry Institute and was named among the top 20 agtech startups at Fruit Logistica. In 2025 it completed its largest commercial blueberry project.
The service is currently offered to blueberry and avocado growers, with field operations in Israel, Mexico and Peru. Named customers include Kibbutz Eyal and Granot Future Farming in Israel, Agricola El Rancho and Agrovision in Peru, and Allesbeste in South Africa.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Electrostatic platform that collects avocado pollen contact-free and applies it during female bloom.
Vibration pollination machine mimicking bumblebee buzz pollination for blueberry canopies, with GPS coverage tracking.
Predicts optimal pollination timing from bloom and weather data and maps completed pollination work per field.
