Axiom Space is a privately funded space infrastructure company headquartered in Houston, Texas, founded in 2016 by Kam Ghaffarian and Michael Suffredini.
The company has flown five crewed missions to the International Space Station, beginning with Axiom Mission 1 in April 2022, the first fully commercial crewed spaceflight to the ISS. It is developing Axiom Station, a commercial modular space station intended to succeed the ISS, and serves as NASA's prime contractor for the Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU) spacesuit for the Artemis lunar surface program, co-designed with Prada, with an ISS demonstration planned for 2027.
In September 2026 Axiom signed a memorandum of understanding with the European Space Agency to expand Europe's access to low Earth orbit, and the company has established subsidiaries in Switzerland and Japan to support its European and Asia-Pacific operations. Michael Suffredini served as chief executive from founding through 2024; Jonathan Cirtain currently holds the role.
