AVL Motion is a Dutch robotics company based in Westerbeek, Noord-Brabant, founded in 2018 by Arno van Lankveld. The company designs and manufactures autonomous harvesting machines for labor-intensive horticulture crops, particularly white asparagus. Its flagship product, the AVL Compact S9000, harvests up to 9,000 asparagus per hour — approximately 30 times faster than manual labor — and can operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The robot deploys directly on existing fields and requires only one operator. AVL Motion has raised approximately $1.1 million from investors including Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij, Brightlands Venture Partners, and Future Food Fund.
