Company Overview

Auxivo AG is a Swiss exoskeleton manufacturer incorporated in 2019 as a spin-off from the Rehabilitation Engineering Lab at ETH Zürich. The company was founded by Volker Bartenbach (PhD in exoskeleton robotics, ETH Zürich), Michael Stucky, and Prof. Roger Gassert, the head of the Rehabilitation Engineering Lab who serves as scientific advisor. The founding team started collaborating in 2017 to commercialize years of academic research in wearable robotics.

Auxivo's mission is to develop wearable exoskeletons that support industry workers performing physically demanding tasks such as repetitive lifting, carrying heavy objects, and sustained forward-leaning or overhead postures. The company is headquartered at Sonnenbergstrasse 72, 8603 Schwerzenbach, Switzerland, near Zurich.

The primary product is the LiftSuit, a lightweight passive textile exoskeleton weighing under 1 kg that supports back and hip muscles during lifting from below hip height and forward-leaning tasks. Integrated textile springs store and release energy to assist the user's motion, reducing muscle fatigue without restricting natural movement. The LiftSuit 1.1 became commercially available in 2021 and was among the first textile exosuits on the market. The updated LiftSuit 2 weighs under 2.3 lbs and incorporates replaceable elastic energy storage elements rated for up to 150,000 lifting cycles.

The OmniSuit is Auxivo's second major product—an integrated shoulder and back assistive exoskeleton weighing 2.7 kg (size S/M) constructed from aluminium, steel, nylon PA12, POM, and breathable spacer mesh. It targets overhead assembly tasks and sustained forward-leaning work, reducing shoulder muscle load by over 40% during overhead activities and back muscle load by over 30% during forward-leaning postures.

Auxivo has also developed the DeltaSuit, CarrySuit, and an educational EduExo kit. Target use cases span construction sites, logistics and moving companies, airports, manufacturing assembly, and healthcare nursing. The company has international distributors across Europe including France, Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands. Funding has included an ETH Pioneer Fellowship and an Innosuisse Bridge Fellowship.
