autoVimation GmbH is a German manufacturer of industrial-grade protective camera enclosures and complete mounting systems for the machine vision and image processing market, founded in 2008 and headquartered in Rheinstetten, Baden-Württemberg, Germany (Romerweg 1, 76287 Rheinstetten). Founded by Peter Neuhaus, the company is a pioneer in the design and production of robust enclosures for cameras, lights, and lasers made from aluminum and stainless steel with excellent heat dissipation properties. autoVimation's patented heat-guide/quick-lock camera mount allows camera systems to operate at up to 20°C higher ambient temperatures by using the outer enclosure as a heat sink. The product range spans from the compact Colibri to the large-format Mammoth enclosure, and includes hygienic-design stainless steel Feuersalamander models for food and pharma environments, as well as dovetail enclosures for easy integration.
Applications include Robot Vision 2D/3D, metrology, inspection, and analysis in factory automation, electronics, food and beverage, logistics, life sciences, and semiconductor manufacturing. In 2025, autoVimation was acquired by Exaktera LLC, a US-based Union Park Capital portfolio company whose brands also include Advanced Illumination, LUMIMAX, ProPhotonix, VisioCablePro, and Z-LASER. Peter Neuhaus continues to lead the business under Exaktera ownership.
