AutoNxt Automation Pvt. Ltd. is an Indian electric tractor manufacturer founded in 2016 in Mumbai by Kaustubh Dhonde, an electronics engineer who serves as founder and CEO. The company is headquartered at Amfotech IT Park in Thane, Maharashtra, and describes its products as AI-powered electric and autonomous tractors for agriculture and industry.
After research on high-torque electric powertrains and vehicle control systems in 2018-2019, AutoNxt built prototypes with IoT-based monitoring in 2020-2021 and completed performance and safety testing with the International Centre for Automotive Technology (iCAT), which certified 20 hp, 35 hp and 45 hp variants. The X45H2 was launched commercially in Thane in 2024, with the first unit delivered to Jaywant Sugars Ltd. The current range comprises the X45H2 and X45C2 (45 hp class, 32 kW motor, 38.4 kWh battery, 50-60 km range) and the H55C2 (55 hp class, 45 kW motor, 63.89 kWh liquid-cooled LFP battery, Carraro transmission, 80 km range), plus 18 ft grabber bucket, catcher and loader-bucket attachments. A companion mobile app provides IoT performance monitoring, fleet management and service data.
Autonomy is part of the roadmap rather than the core shipping product. Earlier media coverage showed a driverless prototype that could be tracked and operated remotely through the company app for ploughing, tilling, disking and spraying. The website describes its airport tractors as autonomous-ready and its defence tractors as offering remote operation, and lists autonomous driving among its 2025+ development priorities. AutoNxt reports more than 270 orders and lists customers and partners including BAIF Development Research, Noida International Airport, Jaywant Sugars, Reliance New Energy and Thermax, serving biomass, cement, construction, defence, airport and metal-manufacturing users. The company raised a seed round in 2022 and a USD 3 million pre-Series A round in April 2024 led by Saama Capital, with participation from Bluehill Capital, Keiretsu Forum, Soonicorn Ventures and angel investors including Amit Singhal.
