Asterion Systems builds counter-UAS interceptors and the Perimaster C4ISR platform for border, airspace and critical-infrastructure protection.
Asterion Systems develops counter-unmanned-aircraft-system (C-UAS) and border-protection technology combining radar, AI-driven threat detection and autonomous interception. Its core platform, Perimaster, is a scalable C4ISR situational-awareness system that fuses sensors, autonomous drones and AI to detect, track and neutralize aerial threats in real time across varied terrain. The HitchHiker product line comprises Orion-class interceptor UAVs, including the electric Orion E, the Orion Jet and the compact Orion XS, designed for high-speed rear interception of hostile drones such as Shahed-type loitering munitions, guided by heat signatures with a human operator in the loop to limit collateral damage.
The company also offers Milli-Core, a high-bandwidth jam-resistant data link for manned and unmanned aircraft, and integrates with major third-party radar systems. Asterion unveiled the HitchHiker interceptor at the 2024 Bahrain International Air Show and partnered with IronNet to integrate counter-drone defense with cyber capabilities. It operates research and production hubs in the Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, Bahrain, Canada and the United States, with systems deployed in Ukraine and the Middle East.
In 2026 the company was acquired by Collective Defence in a transaction valuing the combined business at more than 1 billion USD, creating one of Europe's largest privately held defense-technology groups. Asterion previously operated under C5 Capital backing. Its technology targets governments and critical-infrastructure operators requiring autonomous airspace and perimeter defense, with future development focused on supersonic interceptors and AI-powered radar.
