arculus GmbH is a Munich-based autonomous mobile robot (AMR) developer and software company founded in 2016. The company designs and manufactures the arculee family of AMRs entirely in-house, covering mechanics, electronics, embedded software, and fleet management software. Since producing its first prototype in 2017, arculus has deployed systems completing over 1.5 million picks and accumulating more than 500,000 km of operation in real production environments. arculus was acquired by Hamburg-based Jungheinrich AG, a global intralogistics equipment leader, for an undisclosed sum; arculus continues to operate under its own brand as a Jungheinrich engineering subsidiary.
The arculee product lineup spans multiple payload classes. The arculee XS (505 × 540 × 400 mm, 250 kg payload) handles light under-pallet transport in tight spaces. The arculee S (800 × 750 × 290 mm, up to 1,000 kg payload, top speed 2.3 m/s) addresses standard pallet transport and goods-to-person workflows.
The arculee M (1,200 × 750 × 290 mm, up to 1,200 kg payload) is suited for heavier platform and lift applications. All arculee robots are designed for underload pallet transport and modular production environments. In addition to hardware, arculus offers the arculus Warehouse software for goods-to-person logistics management, the Modular Production software for dynamic production-flow orchestration, and a Fleet Manager for coordinating heterogeneous robot fleets. arculus has offices in Munich (headquarters at Balanstraße 73, Haus 10, D-81541 München), Dresden, and Stuttgart.
The company previously received backing from investors including Atomico, La Famiglia, and Visionaries Club before the Jungheinrich acquisition.
