Alliance Automation, LLC is a robotic systems integrator founded in August 2008 in Delphos, Ohio, opening during the financial crisis with six employees and growing to more than thirty by the end of its first year. The company relocated to Van Wert, Ohio in 2010 and, in 2015, established an engineering and manufacturing operation in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. By 2022 it had consolidated four Ohio locations into a single 140,000-square-foot campus in Van Wert, alongside a 30,000-square-foot facility in Mexico.
The company designs and builds automation systems for robotic assembly and test, material handling, palletizing and depalletizing, and end-of-line packaging, serving automotive, consumer goods, and food and beverage manufacturers including Briggs & Stratton, Samsung, Eaton, Whirlpool, Subaru, and Nissan. A dedicated line of pallet-industry equipment grew out of its early work automating pallet handling for CHEP: the Robotic Pallet Dismantler, released in 2017, followed by the Urban Sawmill in 2019 and further sorting and board-handling systems. Alliance acquired SMETCO, Inc. in 2020 to broaden this pallet-equipment portfolio.
Alliance Automation also operates an in-house machining division, offers equipment financing to customers, and maintains a research and development function established in 2014 to advance its proprietary pallet-processing product lines.
