Company Overview

Algomatic Dynamics is a Tokyo robotics and physical AI company incorporated on 27 April 2026 and publicly launched on 9 September 2026, when it announced a first funding round of JPY 5 billion (reported in English-language press as about 32.5 million US dollars) underwritten entirely by GK DMM.com. The company was set up alongside an organisational restructuring at Algomatic Inc., an AI company in the DMM Group, and its representative director and chief executive, Yuki Nanri, previously served as chief technology officer of Algomatic. DMM.com chairman Keiji Kameyama, who ran and exited a robotics business roughly a decade earlier, commented publicly on the investment. The proceeds are earmarked for research and development hardware and computing resources, and for demonstrations and collaborations with outside companies and research institutions.

The company describes its role as building the intelligence and control layers that let robots operate smoothly alongside people, rather than as a conventional robot manufacturer, and frames its offer as a pipeline running from capturing human skill as data to supplying the hardware on which robots learn. Its first hardware line is an AI multi-fingered hand sold as a combined hardware and software package, with task-specific tuning, re-tuning and ongoing maintenance included. The hand is aimed at contact-rich grasping, from rigid industrial parts to irregularly shaped food, and the company plans a public release of the AI multi-fingered hand platform in Japan within 2026. No degrees of freedom, payload or sensor figures have been published.

A second line converts video of skilled workers and of full-body motion such as dance or football into robot training data, with support for transfer across different robot bodies, and is offered together with robot rental and dispatch of robot operators. A third line, branded AI Toy, covers planning, development and maintenance of bipedal character robots for entertainment, built with animatronics techniques. Underlying research covers bipedal stability control that combines model-based control with reinforcement learning for uneven ground, steps and slopes, and automatic extraction of tacit know-how such as timing, applied force and gaze from footage of experts.

Target sectors named at launch are manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, nursing care and food service, all cited for labour shortages. The company exhibited equipment at the 44th Annual Conference of the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ2026) in Kanazawa on 1 to 4 September 2026. It is recruiting AI and hardware engineers in Tokyo for its AI hand and entertainment robot programmes.
