AEVEX (AEVEX Aerospace / AEVEX Corp.) is an American defense technology company headquartered in the San Diego, California area, founded in 2017 through the combination of three defense contractors (Merlin Global Services, CSG Solutions, and Special Operations Solutions). The company designs, manufactures, and deploys autonomous systems and mission solutions for contested and GPS-denied environments, supporting the U.S. military and allied forces.
Its portfolio spans three areas. Unmanned Systems include precision-strike and loitering-munition platforms such as Atlas, Disruptor, Sicario, Vandal, Onyx, Raker, and Dominator; the long-endurance Mariana ISR aircraft; and Mako and Mako Lite unmanned surface vessels. Advanced Autonomy centers on CompassX, an open-standards, AI-driven navigation and autonomy platform with CompassCore, CompassVision, CompassEngage, CompassPNT, and CompassEarth modules for assured positioning, navigation, and timing in GPS-denied conditions. Mission Solutions cover additive manufacturing (its Drone Factory of the Future), intelligence analysis, full-spectrum airborne ISR, aircraft integration and modification, flight operations and mission support, and Counter-UAS red teaming. AEVEX holds AS9100 certification.
The company has expanded through acquisitions including Veth Research Associates and select assets from RapidFlight, and operates production facilities including a 60,000 sq ft UAS facility in Florida and aircraft modification sites in Murrieta, California. AEVEX completed an initial public offering in 2026 and trades on Nasdaq under the ticker AVEX. Notable contracts include FIRIS aerial intelligence for California, wildfire detection aircraft for the Oregon Department of Forestry, and multiple U.S. Air Force and Army awards.
