Aerodome

Aerodome was a US-based public safety technology company that developed a fully integrated, AI-driven drone-as-first-responder (DFR) platform for police, fire, and rescue agencies. Founded in 2023 by Rahul Sidhu—a former police officer with 14 years of first-responder experience—and co-founder Kenaniah Cerny, Aerodome emerged from stealth in October 2023 with a $6.5 million seed round led by 2048 Ventures, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Everywhere Ventures, and Anti Fund, ultimately raising $28 million total. The company's core product was an end-to-end automated drone response system that allowed public safety agencies to dispatch NDAA-compliant, American-made drones to an emergency scene within approximately 3 minutes of a 911 call, streaming live video to responding units beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).

The software platform integrated detect-and-avoid capabilities to allow BVLOS operations without requiring a visual observer on the ground. Early adopters included the Scottsdale, Arizona Police Department. In October 2024—just 17 months after founding—Aerodome was acquired by Flock Safety for over $300 million, described as one of the largest tech acquisitions in public safety history.

Post-acquisition, Aerodome's technology was rebranded as Flock Aerodome and integrated with Flock Safety's existing suite, which includes license plate recognition cameras, gunshot detection sensors, and real-time crime center software. Sidhu moved to Flock Safety as VP of Aviation. The aerodome.com domain now redirects to Flock Safety's drone product pages.
