"Construimos la tecnología del futuro en la agricultura"
Guatemalan agtech firm founded in 2012 offering XAG drone spraying, AFP-300 long-range mapping drone surveys, irrigation automation and fire detection.
Aerobots, Inc. is an agricultural technology company headquartered in Guatemala City. It was founded in April 2012 by Juan Pablo Liska, Antonio Liska and Jorge Jaar to apply new technologies to agricultural productivity, and its team of more than 20 people includes engineers and scientists in mechanics, mechatronics, aerospace, computing, agronomy, geoinformation and earth sciences. The company says it develops and integrates its own technology and keeps control over most of its solutions.
Its main business lines combine drones, satellite data, AI analytics and IoT. In aerial application, Aerobots operates a fleet of XAG agricultural drones for commercial and experimental spraying of fertilizers and chemical or biological crop-protection products on extensive crops and vegetables. In data collection, it designed and builds the AFP-300, a long-range fixed-wing data-collection drone with about four hours of endurance that captures high-resolution aerial imagery at more than 2,000 hectares per hour; flights beyond visual line of sight require specialized training and permits. For medium fields of roughly 50 to 350 hectares it uses the Robota Eclipse delta-wing drone with RTK positioning, and for small or confined areas the XAG X-Mission quadcopter. Satellite imagery is processed with vegetation indices and AI-based algorithms, and the company has built a ratoon (regrowth) analysis tool for sugarcane that quantifies post-harvest regrowth to target replanting; results can be used on paper or through field apps on phones and tablets.
Other services include automation of irrigation systems to reduce operating costs and an early fire detection system developed over more than six years with ThermalRadar, which runs continuous thermal analysis to flag temperature anomalies and detects fires of about 3 m at distances of up to 5 km from the radar. Aerobots also produces drone light shows, which it describes as the first of their kind in Central America.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
In-house long-range data-collection drone capturing high-resolution imagery over 2,000+ ha per hour
Aerial application of fertilizers and crop-protection products with an XAG drone fleet
ThermalRadar-based system detecting ~3 m fires up to 5 km away via continuous heat analysis
