Aerial Vehicle Safety Solutions Inc. (AVSS) is a drone-safety technology company founded in 2017 and based in Rothesay, New Brunswick, Canada. The company develops parachute recovery and flight termination systems for commercial and dual-use uncrewed aircraft.
Its Parachute Recovery Systems (PRS) pair a field-repackable Parachute Pod with an electronic module, an autonomous triggering device, and a flight termination system, deploying in under 0.5 seconds. AVSS builds model-specific units for DJI's enterprise drone line, including the PRS-M300 and PRS-M350 (Matrice 300/350 RTK), PRS-M30 (Matrice 30/30T), PRS-M4S (Matrice 4 Enterprise/Thermal), PRS-M3DT (DJI Dock 2), and PRS-M4DT (DJI Dock 3), plus a system for the Mavic 3 Enterprise/Thermal. The systems carry documentation referencing ASTM F3322, EASA MOC 2511 and MOC 2512, and ISO 21384-3, intended to support approvals for flight over people and beyond visual line of sight. Since 2020 AVSS has also supplied guided and unguided aerial delivery systems, including low-altitude resupply parachutes, Snow Darts for avalanche mitigation, and ground-control software for mission planning, aimed at drone delivery, public safety, and industrial inspection users.
AVSS sells through a network the company describes as more than 70 partners and resellers, including RMUS and Advexure, and each PRS ships with a one-year warranty.
