EVENT OVERVIEW
RoboBoston is a free public robotics festival run by MassRobotics, the Boston nonprofit innovation hub for robotics startups. Its main event is the Robot Block Party, held each year since 2017 except 2020. The 9th edition was set for September 26, 2026 at 88 Seaport Blvd, with a career fair and VIP reception earlier that week. On September 25, 2026, WGBH reported that the block party was postponed because of a coastal nor'easter. MassRobotics rescheduled it for Saturday, May 1, 2027, indoors at SoWa Power Station, 550 Harrison Ave, in the South End. The event keeps the 9th annual name. MassRobotics reported more than 7,500 attendees at the 2025 block party in the Seaport. The organizer says more than 50 companies, universities and student teams exhibit.
The day opens at 10:45 AM with a Sidewalk Robot Parade, followed by a ribbon cutting at 11:00 AM. The block party runs until 4:00 PM, and visitors can come and go. Exhibits are hands-on: past editions featured drones, collaborative robot arms, robot dogs, underwater robots, grippers and a few humanoids. Visitors could fly drones through obstacle courses and drive underwater robots. High school robotics teams show their competition robots. In 2025 Boston Mayor Michelle Wu led the ribbon cutting. RoboBoston weeks have also included a Robotics and AI Technical Career Fair and a STEM field trip day; MassRobotics has not said whether these will accompany the May 2027 date. Sponsors for the 2026 cycle were MassTech, Foundova, RTX and EF Explore America, with support from WS Development's Boston Seaport.

RECOMMENDED ATTENDEES
The Robot Block Party is for families, students, teachers and the public, plus Boston-area robotics startups that want visibility and recruits. It is not a business conference: there are no talks or deal-making sessions on the day. Industry buyers and investors will get more from MassRobotics' own business events or from the Robotics Summit & Expo in Boston. Students and early-career engineers should watch for a career fair, which MassRobotics has run alongside past editions.
