EVENT OVERVIEW
The 2027 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Robotics and its Social Impacts (ARSO 2027) will take place March 13–15, 2027 at the Hyatt Centric Mountain View in Mountain View, California. The conference moves from Vienna, where the 22nd edition was held at TU Wien in June 2026. It also shifts earlier in the year, from June to March. ARSO is organized under the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. Paper submissions are due December 1, 2026. The 2027 organizing committee had not been published on the RAS listing as of late September 2026.
ARSO focuses on the societal side of robotics: safety, regulation, ethics, human factors, philosophy and the effects of robots on work and daily life. It invites interdisciplinary contributions from any field of robotics, and its RAS listing tags it under cognitive robotics and the social implications of technology. The conference is small; the 2026 Vienna edition expected about 100 participants. Holding the 2027 edition in Mountain View puts it close to Silicon Valley robotics and AI companies. The conference website, ieee-arso.org, still showed information from earlier editions at check time.
