EVENT OVERVIEW

The 2027 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2027) will be held May 24–28, 2027 at the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center in Seoul, South Korea. It is the flagship conference of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and returns to Seoul for the first time since 2001. Seoul won the hosting rights over Bangkok with support from the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Organization. Kyu-Jin Cho of Seoul National University is General Chair and Marcia O'Malley is Program Chair. The theme is "Forging an Ecosystem of Innovation: Building a Collaborative Robotics Community."

Paper submissions closed September 16, 2026. Acceptance decisions are due January 31, 2027, and registration opens in early February, with an early-bird deadline of March 31. The call for workshops and tutorials is open. Organizers expected about 10,000 attendees when the bid was announced. The previous edition, ICRA 2026 in Vienna, drew about 9,000 participants, 196 exhibitors and 20 start-ups, and showed about 2,000 posters. The venue has 48,157 m² of event space in Gangnam, near Bongeunsa Temple. Korea's robotics industry and research institutes give the event a strong regional base.
