EVENT OVERVIEW
HANNOVER MESSE 2027 takes place April 5-8, 2027, on the Hannover Exhibition Grounds in Germany, open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Organized by Deutsche Messe AG, it is billed as the world's leading trade fair for the manufacturing industry. The 2027 edition is both earlier and shorter than 2026: four days, Monday to Thursday, instead of five. Spain is the partner country; Deutsche Messe chairman Jochen Köckler cited Spain's role in technologies such as electromobility and green hydrogen. The following edition is scheduled for April 24-27, 2028.
The 2026 edition (April 20-24) drew about 110,000 visitors, down from 123,000 in 2025, with roughly 40% coming from abroad; China, Brazil, the US, Japan and South Korea were among the leading visitor countries, and Brazil was partner country. The organizer reported about 3,000 exhibitors. Deutsche Messe framed artificial intelligence, robotics, automation and energy infrastructure as the core of the fair. Exhibitors showed AI-driven production systems and natural-language machine programming, and several presented humanoid robot applications. Köckler said the combination of AI with physical machines would mark the next major step in industrial development. Deutsche Messe is also launching Europe Energy Week as a complementary platform for energy topics.
