World Labs is an American artificial intelligence company founded in 2024 and headquartered at 640 2nd Street, Floor 3, San Francisco, California 94107, USA. The company was founded by AI pioneer Fei-Fei Li alongside co-founders Justin Johnson, Christoph Lassner, and Ben Mildenhall, each a recognized expert in machine learning, generative AI, computer vision, and neural rendering. Fei-Fei Li is a former Stanford professor and co-director of the Stanford Human-Centered AI Institute.
World Labs specializes in spatial intelligence: the ability of AI systems to perceive, model, reason about, and act within three-dimensional physical or geometric space. The company's founding thesis is that lifting AI from the 2D plane of pixels to full 3D world understanding is a prerequisite for capable robotic systems and immersive interactive applications.
The company launched from stealth in September 2024 having already raised USD 230 million across two funding rounds co-led by Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, and Radical Ventures, with participation from NVentures (Nvidia's venture arm) and AMD Ventures. In February 2026, World Labs raised an additional USD 1 billion in a Series B round, bringing total funding to over USD 1.2 billion.
The company's flagship product is Marble, a generative multimodal Large World Model. Marble can reconstruct, generate, simulate, and export persistent 3D worlds from a range of inputs including single images, text prompts, panoramas, multi-view images, and video. Generated worlds are spatially consistent, high-fidelity, and explorable without time limits. Marble 1.1 Plus automatically expands 3D spatial coverage to generate larger environments. The World API provides a public developer interface for integrating Marble into third-party applications, enabling creation of navigable spatial environments at scale.
World Labs' spatial intelligence technology has direct implications for robotics simulation and training environments, autonomous navigation, game development, digital twins, and extended reality applications.
