wheel.me is a Norwegian robotics company founded in 2013 by Rolf Libakken and Atle Timenes, headquartered in Oslo with engineering and production also in Fredrikstad.
The company's flagship product, Genius 2, is a set of autonomous motorized wheels that bolt onto existing factory carts, trolleys, racks, and shelving units, instantly converting them into self-driving robots without replacing existing material handling infrastructure. A standard four-wheel Genius 2 set supports a payload of up to 400 kg and is priced from €13,990, making it one of the most cost-accessible autonomous mobile solutions on the market. The system achieves a robot mission success rate exceeding 95% and can be deployed roughly ten times faster than a traditional AGV installation because no new carts are required and minimal process changes are needed on the factory floor. Genius 2 carries UL 3100 and SIL 2 industrial safety certifications, meeting the highest standards for autonomous mobile equipment operating alongside people. Navigation relies on a sensor-fusion architecture; in 2024 wheel.me integrated RGo's Perception Engine to increase robustness in dynamic environments, and the company demonstrated private 5G connectivity at MWC Barcelona for high-density deployments. The software platform allows operators to configure missions, define routes, and monitor robot fleets across assembly line replenishment, waste removal, and intralogistics transport use cases.
Customers include DB Schenker (waste management automation in Ireland), Stellantis (Factory Booster Day participant), IKEA, Android Industries, BeeWatec, and NTNU. The company maintains offices in Oslo and Fredrikstad (Norway), Detroit (USA), and León (Mexico), supported by a global reseller network including Flowstore (UK), HUPICO (Benelux/France), Rackart (Mexico), and Fujitex (Japan). In January 2024, wheel.me received a record order worth USD 2.2 million from a North American customer, and in August 2025 it launched a Certified Power Station and Portable Charger accessory to support autonomous wireless charging in facilities without fixed charging infrastructure.
