WFL Millturn Technologies GmbH & Co. KG is an Austrian precision machine tool manufacturer headquartered at Wahringerstrasse 36, 4030 Linz, Austria. Founded in 1993 when the Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik Linz (WFL) emerged as an independent company from its predecessor organization, WFL celebrated 30 years of operation in 2023 and 40 years of the MILLTURN machine concept. The company has grown from an initial team of 12 to more than 500 employees.
WFL is the only manufacturer worldwide that concentrates exclusively on the production of multifunctional MILLTURN complete machining centres — machines that combine the capabilities of a 2-4 axis CNC turning centre with a 5-axis CNC machining centre in a single platform. This eliminates the need for workpiece re-fixturing between separate turning and milling operations, enabling single-setup complete machining of highly complex shaft and chuck parts. WFL's product range spans 13 machine models covering turning diameters from 420 mm to 1,500 mm and turning lengths from 1,000 mm to 8,000 mm.
Key machine series include the M20 MILLTURN and M20-G, compact complete machining centres equipped with a 44 kW (S1)/32 kW turning spindle and a 20 kW milling unit capable of 20,000 rpm, designed for high-stability complete machining of precision components. The M30/M35 and M30-G/M35-G series accommodate swing diameters up to 520 mm with machining lengths up to 2,000 mm for complex shaft and chuck parts. The M200 MILLTURN addresses very large components with turning diameters up to 1,500 mm.
WFL machines are deployed in demanding aerospace, energy, automotive, and defense manufacturing applications where tight tolerances and complex geometries require integrated turning, milling, drilling, boring, and grinding in a single clamping. WFL also offers manufacturing process consulting, tool management, production and technology support services. The company participates in major international exhibitions including EMO and IMTS (International Manufacturing Technology Show). Norbert Jungreithmayr has served as CEO for more than 20 years, overseeing the company's international expansion and technology leadership.
