Waygate Technologies is a non-destructive testing equipment maker headquartered in Hurth, Germany, operating as a business of Baker Hughes. The brand traces to Krautkramer ultrasonic-testing instruments and the former GE Inspection Technologies division, taken on by Baker Hughes when GE combined its oil and gas business with Baker Hughes in 2017; the unit was renamed Waygate Technologies in January 2020. In April 2026, Hexagon AB agreed to acquire Waygate Technologies from Baker Hughes for about 1.45 billion US dollars, with the deal expected to close later in 2026.
The product range covers four testing methods. The imaging line includes DXR Flex radiography detectors, CRxFlex cassettes, STRUCTURIX film, and ISOVOLT X-ray tube generators. The computed-tomography line includes the Phoenix V|tome|x industrial CT scanners for dimensional metrology and the Phoenix Nanotom M for sub-micron CT. The ultrasonic line includes the Krautkramer USM100 and USM36 flaw detectors and the WheelStar system for railway-wheel inspection. The visual inspection line includes the Everest Mentor Visual iQ+ and Mentor Flex+ borescopes plus crawlers, drones, and wheeled robots for confined-space work.
Waygate Technologies operates Customer Solutions Centers in Ahrensburg, Munich, and Wunstorf, plus Cincinnati, Bangalore, and Shanghai, serving aerospace, automotive, energy, and manufacturing customers.
