Unifly NV is an unmanned traffic management (UTM) software company headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium. Founded in 2015 by two air traffic controllers as a spin-off of the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO), the company is led by co-founder and CEO Andres Van Swalm and serves air navigation service providers, airports, urban air mobility and defense organizations.
The Unifly UTM platform provides configurable interfaces for operators, supervisors and aviation authorities, handling flight planning and authorization, real-time tracking, conflict detection and airspace segmentation for urban operations; it can be deployed on premises or in the cloud and exposes APIs for integration. BLIP is a tracking device that combines Remote Identification with real-time position reporting, and Samwise is a web application that helps operators prepare SORA and LUC authorization requests. A consulting division, formerly EuroUSC Italia, handles regulatory work.
Unifly reports 8 live commercial UTM deployments in more than 10 countries and over 5 million validated flights. Its 17 million euro Series B round in 2019 brought in Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS) and the Belgian federal holding FPIM alongside existing investors Terra Drone, QBIC and PMV. The company has contributed UTM technology to the SESAR Gulf of Finland project and the SAFIR demonstrations in Sint-Truiden.
