Publicly listed Chinese outdoor gear and chip group that has launched two generations of its own lower-limb exoskeleton.
Toread Holdings Group Co., Ltd. is a Chinese outdoor lifestyle group founded in 1999 and headquartered in Tongzhou District, Beijing. In December 2025, Toread introduced a second-generation exoskeleton with a lighter overall weight of just over two kilograms including battery, capable of reducing effective carried load by up to 30 kilograms, along with improved waterproofing and updated intelligent control. The product was made available through Toread's retail stores and online presale channels, positioning the exoskeleton line as an emerging technology-driven growth area alongside the group's established apparel and semiconductor businesses.
While outdoor apparel and semiconductor chips remain Toread's principal revenue segments, the company's repeated, multi-generation investment in its own branded exoskeleton hardware line represents a concrete robotics business line pursued directly by the group rather than a one-off collaboration, distinguishing it from companies whose only connection to robotics is as a customer or a single unrelated pilot project.
