It has operated as an Airbus subsidiary since 2011, and as of October 2025 its product lines are managed as part of a consolidated tactical drone center of excellence within the Airbus Helicopters division.
The company's Aliaca fixed-wing electric UAS weighs about 25 kilograms and carries up to 3 kilograms of payload for missions of roughly six hours; it has been qualified by France's defense procurement agency, the DGA, and ordered in successive batches to equip French Navy ships for maritime surveillance. Survey Copter also builds the Flexrotor system, a 25-kilogram platform carrying up to 8 kilograms of payload for missions of 12 to 14 hours. Across its programs, the company states it has sold more than 300 unmanned systems to customers worldwide.
Airbus describes the October 2025 reorganization as intended to create engineering synergies between Survey Copter's drone lines and Airbus Helicopters' rotorcraft operations rather than as a sale or closure of the Survey Copter business.
