Company Overview

Stereotaxis, Inc. is a publicly traded medical robotics company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, trading on NYSE American under the ticker STXS. Founded in 1990, the company developed Robotic Magnetic Navigation (RMN), using computer-controlled external magnets to steer flexible, magnetically tipped catheters through blood vessels for electrophysiology procedures such as catheter ablation for arrhythmias.

Its currently marketed platform is Genesis, built around compact rotating magnets on flexible robotic arms; GenesisX is a semi-mobile version installable in a catheterization lab over a weekend without shielding the room walls, since the magnetic field stays inside the system's base when parked. Stereotaxis pairs the navigation hardware with the Synchrony display, consolidating cath-lab systems onto one screen under a single keyboard and mouse, and with SynX, a cloud-based application for remote monitoring. The MAGiC catheter is a robotically navigated ablation catheter, and MAGiC Sweep is a high-density mapping catheter carrying 20 electrodes, not yet CE marked.

The predecessor Niobe RMN system was used in over 100,000 procedures at more than 100 hospitals worldwide before Stereotaxis moved its installed base toward Genesis, and the company continues pursuing magnetic-navigation applications beyond cardiac electrophysiology, including vascular and neurological procedures.
