Stellantis N.V. is a multinational automotive manufacturing corporation headquartered in Hoofddorp, Netherlands (Taurusavenue 1, 2132 LS), formed on 16 January 2021 through the merger of French PSA Group and Italian-American Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). While Stellantis is primarily an automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM), the company has made deliberate moves into autonomous vehicle and mobility-as-a-service territory. In October 2025, Stellantis and Pony.ai signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop and test SAE Level 4 (hands-off, eyes-off) autonomous vehicles in Europe. The program centers on Stellantis' K0 platform — a battery-electric medium-size van — integrated with Pony.ai's autonomous driving software stack. Initial testing uses vehicles based on the Peugeot e-Traveller model in Luxembourg, with broader rollout across European cities targeted from 2026.
Stellantis has also engaged with Applied Intuition, Qualcomm, Wayve, Nvidia, Uber, Mistral AI, and CATL on autonomous driving computing and software architecture as part of a multi-year technology investment plan announced by CEO Antonio Filosa. The company plans to invest more than EUR 60 billion over five years, with significant allocation toward technology platforms.
