Spin Robotics is a Danish robotics tooling company founded in 2019 and headquartered in Odense, Denmark — the heart of Europe's collaborative robotics industry. The company was co-founded by Thomas Solund and Teit Silberling, who together bring more than 15 years of experience in the robotics sector. Spin Robotics focuses exclusively on designing and manufacturing screwdriving end-effectors and tightening systems built specifically for use with collaborative robots.
The company's flagship product line is the SD-Series — a family of brushless, all-in-one collaborative screwdriver systems. The range currently includes three models tailored to different torque requirements: the SD35 (up to 3.5 Nm, fasteners M2-M5), the SD70 (up to 7 Nm, fasteners M3-M6), and the SD120 (up to 12 Nm, fasteners M5-M8). Each model integrates a brushless motor, torque sensor, safety shield, and the Spin Bridge controller into a single compact unit that mounts directly to a cobot arm.
Safety is a central design principle. The SD-Series tools include a performance level-d built-in safety sensor that halts robot motion immediately if the tool contacts an unexpected object, and a spring-loaded safety shield that covers the rotating bit and screw during transit between holes. These features make certification and safe deployment in human-collaborative environments straightforward.
Programming is simplified through the cobot's native teach-and-freedrive interface: an operator physically guides the robot arm to each fastening location and saves the position, with sequences stored in the Spin Bridge controller which can hold up to 300 different screwdriving sequences. The system integrates natively with Universal Robots cobots and is available through distribution partners including Vention, WiredWorkers, and Unchained Robotics.
Customers across electronics assembly, automotive sub-assembly, and consumer goods manufacturing use Spin Robotics SD-Series tools to automate repetitive fastening tasks, reducing assembly cycle times by up to 60% and minimising repetitive strain injuries among workers.
