Songying Technology, whose product is marketed under the name ORCA (ORCA3D), is a Shanghai-based developer of physics-AI simulation software for embodied-AI and robotics research and training. The company is headquartered at the Technology Oasis park on Tianlin Road in Minhang District, Shanghai. According to its own published timeline, the underlying ORCA simulation project began in 2021, the core technology architecture and system foundation were completed over 2022-2023, and the company commercially launched its platform (moving from ORCA 1.0 to ORCA 2.0) and established its Shanghai headquarters in 2024. Its founding team, including CEO Nie Kaixuan, CTO Huang Wei and CPO Zhang Xiaobo, previously worked together at Huawei before starting the company.

The company's flagship product, the ORCA 2.0 Physical AI Simulation Platform, is positioned to close what the company calls the "last mile" between embodied-AI research and real-world robot deployment by combining high-fidelity rendering with physics simulation. The platform supports multiple simulated sensor modalities, including RGB, depth, IMU and LiDAR inputs, is built around the OpenUSD scene-description format, exposes a native MCP protocol and command-line interface, and is designed to run at what the company describes as ten-thousand-level concurrent training scale, with compatibility for domestic Chinese AI chips as well as mainstream machine-learning platforms.

Songying Technology sells its simulation capability through three product lines: a subscription-based Physical AI Simulation Software offering for teams that want to run and control the full simulation and training pipeline themselves; a Physical AI Simulation All-in-One Appliance that bundles ORCA 2.0 with pre-configured hardware for a turnkey setup aimed at laboratories and startups; and a Virtual Training Environment Construction service that builds custom high-fidelity simulation environments for customers, with a stated focus on smart-manufacturing and logistics/warehousing use cases.

On the financing side, Songying Technology raised a tens-of-millions-RMB angel round led by Chinese deep-tech investor Casstar in early 2025, and Chinese media have subsequently reported that the company went on to complete Pre-A and Pre-A+ financing rounds, indicating continued early-stage venture backing as it scales its embodied-AI simulation business.
