Solidoodle LLC was a Brooklyn, New York-based consumer 3D printer manufacturer founded in September 2011 by engineer Sam Cervantes. The company produced affordable FDM desktop 3D printers aimed at consumers and hobbyists, shipping over ten thousand units across four product generations assembled at its own Brooklyn factory. Solidoodle was an early pioneer in affordable consumer 3D printing.
Challenges with offshore manufacturing partnerships, port labor disputes disrupting holiday deliveries, and inability to return to profitability led to the company laying off all employees in late 2015 and officially suspending operations on March 28, 2016.
