Snowbotix
"One Robot. Snow, Mow, and Sweep."
All-electric autonomous robots for snow removal, mowing, and sweeping serving commercial facilities across the USA and Canada.
Snowbotix is a Michigan-based robotics company that develops all-electric, multi-utility autonomous robots purpose-built for non-road, high-risk outdoor maintenance environments. Founded in 2023 by Dr. Sasi Prabhakaran and team, the company is headquartered in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and serves commercial contractors and facility managers across the United States and Canada.
The core product is an all-terrain, all-season robot that can be outfitted with modular attachments including snow plows, mowers, sweepers, and de-icing tools that swap in minutes, enabling year-round versatility from a single platform. This design addresses the persistent labor shortages and unpredictability that affect traditional manual grounds maintenance operations.
Snowbotix operates under a Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) model that provides customers with predictable operating expenditure, 24/7 support, fleet management software, and real-time reporting. The platform uses GPS verification and continuous telemetry to deliver transparent performance data to operators. In real-world commercial deployments, the robots have demonstrated 3-4x cost efficiency compared with traditional gas-powered equipment.
The technology is the only fully autonomous platform built from the ground up for nonroad applications including snow grooming, surface sweeping, power washing, and vegetation control. Unlike consumer-grade autonomous outdoor equipment, Snowbotix systems are engineered for commercial-scale environments and adverse weather conditions. The company received recognition from Michigan's innovation ecosystem and participated in the Automate Show 2024, reflecting its growing profile in the industrial robotics space.
