Company Overview

Skyryse, Inc. is an aviation hardware and software company headquartered in El Segundo, California, founded on 1 February 2016 by Mark Groden, an engineer with a PhD in sensor data fusion and over 60 patents in aerial vehicle automation. The company's mission is to usher in a new era of flight safety by making the act of piloting any aircraft simple, intuitive, and significantly safer through intelligent automation.

Skyryse's flagship product is SkyOS, the world's first universal operating system for flight. SkyOS replaces conventional, complex mechanical flight controls with an intelligent, integrated fly-by-wire system that simplifies aircraft management across standard operations, inclement weather, and emergency scenarios. The system is managed through a single control stick and two touchscreens, and leverages deterministic expert AI to assist pilots in real time. SkyOS is designed to be aircraft-agnostic — deployable across helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, and military platforms.

The company's first commercial product, Skyryse One, is a turbine-powered Robinson R66 helicopter equipped with SkyOS, currently undergoing FAA certification. In December 2025, Skyryse achieved the historic first flight of a Black Hawk helicopter with SkyOS installed. The system has also been contracted for Pilatus PC-12s, Bell 407s, and Airbus H-125 and H-130 helicopters. SkyOS includes an automated emergency autoland capability for both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.

Skyryse operates an integration and testing campus in El Segundo and a Part 145 Installation and Repair Center at Hawthorne Airport, California, with a flight test center in Camarillo. The company has raised over $605 million in total equity capital, including a $300 million Series C in February 2026 at a $1.15 billion valuation. Investors include Fidelity Management and Research, Venrock, Eclipse Ventures, Stanford University, and Bill Ford of Ford Motor Company.
