SAKURA internet Inc. is a Japanese cloud and data-center operator founded on December 23, 1996 by Kunihiro Tanaka and headquartered in Osaka, Japan.
The company runs its own domestic data centers and offers a portfolio that ranges from shared web hosting and VPS to dedicated bare-metal servers (Sakura no Senyo Server PHY) and the SAKURA Cloud infrastructure-as-a-service platform. Its core robotics- and AI-relevant offering is Koukaryoku ("high firepower"), a domestic GPU cloud service built for AI and deep-learning workloads, supporting usage from per-second billing to dedicated large-scale processing. In June 2025 the company began operating a container-type data center equipped with roughly 1,000 NVIDIA H200 GPUs to expand Koukaryoku capacity, and it has stated plans to procure on the order of 10,000 GPUs per year. SAKURA internet has also launched the SAKURA Gen AI PLATFORM, a fully managed execution environment for generative AI, and a broader "SAKURA no AI" domestic AI platform. The company signed a basic agreement with KDDI and Highreso to jointly address GPU demand.
SAKURA Cloud was selected as a government cloud service provider for fiscal years 2023 and 2026 under Japan's Digital Agency program. The company holds the Privacy Mark, ISO 27001 information-security certification, and PCI DSS audit attestation. Its GPU compute infrastructure provides the training and inference capacity that underpins AI perception, planning and autonomy systems, positioning it as a compute and data infrastructure supplier for the AI and robotics ecosystem.
