Ronovo Surgical was founded in Shanghai, China, in 2019, focused on accelerating the adoption of intelligent minimally invasive surgery through modular robotic and digital solutions. The company's flagship product, the Carina platform, is a modular robotic-assisted surgery system consisting of a laparoscopic surgical robot, imaging system (Carina Vision), and dedicated surgical instruments (Carina Instruments). The Carina system features an ultra-compact, mobile, modular patient cart with multiple arm configurations, enabling flexible operating room setups and smooth, precise instrument control.
The platform has overcome more than 2,000 patent barriers and holds over 100 domestic and international patent applications. Ronovo Surgical closed a Series D financing round in September 2025 and established its U.S. clinical training base, the Ronovo Institute for Surgical Excellence (RISE), presented at SRS 2024.
