DOGU Robotics (also known as Dogugonggan, Korean:) is a South Korean autonomous robotics company founded in March 2017 and headquartered at KIRIA (Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement), Nowon-ro, Daegu, South Korea. The company specializes in AI-powered autonomous patrol robots and integrated security management platforms for real-world indoor and outdoor deployment.
DOGU's core product portfolio consists of two autonomous mobile security robots: Iroi and Patrover. Iroi is an indoor autonomous patrol and guidance robot designed for facilities such as museums, shopping malls, hospitals, and office buildings. It uses a combination of 2D and 3D LiDAR sensors, five cameras covering front, rear, left, right, and top views, a fire detection sensor, a thermal imaging camera, and omnidirectional ultrasonic sensors acting as a virtual bumper. Iroi can detect fire, unauthorized intrusions, abnormal sounds, and toxic gases, and supports two-way voice communication with remote operators.
Patrover is the outdoor counterpart, engineered for security patrols in chemical plants, factories, parks, and smart city environments. It is equipped with a 3D LiDAR, front and rear 2D LiDAR sensors, four cameras, 14 ultrasonic sensors, a fire detection sensor, and a thermal imaging camera, with a maximum operational autonomy of 8 hours per charge. In May 2023, Patrover received the Outdoor Mobile Robot Operation Safety Certification from KIRIA.
Both robots operate through an integrated platform comprising the SOS centralized monitoring system and the Planner robot configuration software. The platform supports 1:N simultaneous monitoring, enabling one operator to supervise multiple robots across a site. Detection capabilities include fire, black ice, damaged pavement, falls, abnormal sounds, and unauthorized access. AI inference is powered by the NVIDIA Jetson platform.
DOGU has collaborated with major Korean corporations including SKT, KT, LG Electronics, and Hyundai Mobis, and completed a smart city patrol robot proof-of-concept with Hyundai Engineering and Construction. Patrol services are active at over 50 locations across South Korea. The company exhibited at GITEX 2024 in Dubai, expanding its international market presence.
