Roboflow, Inc. is a computer vision software company founded in 2019 by Joseph Nelson (CEO) and Brad Dwyer (CTO) and headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. The founders began by building an augmented-reality Sudoku app, then turned to the tooling problems they hit while training computer vision models, launching Roboflow's platform in 2020 through Y Combinator's Summer 2020 batch.
The platform covers the computer vision workflow end to end: dataset management, AI-assisted annotation, data augmentation and preprocessing, model training on hosted GPU infrastructure, and inference deployment to cloud, edge, and on-premises environments including NVIDIA Jetson devices, Raspberry Pi, and Kubernetes clusters. Roboflow Workflows offers a low-code pipeline builder for chaining detection, classification, and vision-language models, with support for zero-shot detection and fine-tuning alongside classic object-detection and segmentation models. Roboflow Universe hosts more than 250,000 pre-trained, community-shared models. Its 2025 releases include RF-DETR, a real-time detection model exceeding 60 mAP.
Over one million developers and half of the Fortune 100 build on Roboflow, and the company has raised roughly 63 million dollars from investors including Y Combinator, Craft Ventures, and Google Ventures. Its infrastructure is SOC 2 Type II certified and supports HIPAA-compliant deployments.
